Video Recording Guidelines

Read the guidelines below before recording your presentation.

Guidelines

  • Find a location that is well-lit with natural sunlight or plenty of indoor lighting. Avoid having a window or light source behind you as this will make you look silhouetted.
  • Choose a quiet location with little background noise (street sounds, music, other people)
  • Set your phone, or camera on a tripod or steady surface (please do not hold your camera while shooting to avoid shaky footage)
  • Set video resolution to 1080p Full HD with aspect ratio of 16:9.
  • Shoot horizontally (use landscape mode and avoid portrait mode)
  • Position camera at eye level (if you can, avoid angles where the camera lens is looking up or down on you)
  • If you will be reading a script, use a teleprompter (free apps are available from the App Store or Google Play Store that you can download) or simply put your notes as close as possible to the lens of your camera.
  • Choose a non-distracting background (avoid windows, showing other people, posters/signs that can be read, etc.)
  • Keep still for 5 seconds at the beginning and end of your recording
  • Smile… you’re on camera!
  • For program participants, please in your type A uniform (except for those required to wear a specific costume). For outdoor-related feature presentations, type B is fine. No jewelry should be worn.
  • Save file and name is as follows: First Name of Participating Pathfinder_Church_ Club_Conference_Email
  • Upload your video, including the completed and signed Media Liability Release form.
